Meet our brand new cast!
They are all full of talent, energy and ideas and they will rehearse for 7 intense weeks to bring to life our shows and workshops!
Orlaith has just graduated with a Degree in Theatre Dance from London Studio Centre where she studied under a Leverhulme Scholarship. Having specialised in Musical Theatre she performed with the Seedtime Company in the shows Stepping Out, Legally Blonde and Lucky Stiff at Sadler's Wells Theatre. Orlaith is also a member of the National Youth Theatre.
A native Kildare girl, when not acting, singing, dancing or playing music, Orlaith can be found playing a spot of Hurling with her Kilkenny born father or more often watching Game of Thrones with some sweet and salted popcorn for company! An avid explorer, Orlaith is thrilled to be performing with The Emerald Isle Theatre Company on their European tour.
I'm 24 and all I want to do is perform. I'm from the west of Ireland, now living in Dublin. I work as a musician, actor and children's entertainer.
So far I have shown no signs of growing up so my goal is to hold off until my mid-thirties before I start taking anything too seriously. Maybe even longer! Until then my life is music, theatre, love and friendship, travel and wonder.
From a small village in the South West Cork Yvonne discovered her hunger for theatre at an early age. Whether it was dancing in the Cork opera house, singing at mass or acting her socks off for the local panto in the village hall, she has always loved how alive it made her feel.
Now that she has graduated with a degree in Performing arts from UCIA Yvonne is excited to embark on a new journey using theatre to take the English language off the page and inspire young minds to learn and immerse themselves in another language.
After the very fortunate 3 years at BIFE, run by the wonderful Mary Kelly-Borgatta I was lucky enough to finish my degree, in Performing Arts, at Swansea Metropolitan University. Since then I have worked with the amazing MadCap Theatre Productions on two national tours of Shakespeare plays around England, as well as several other smaller projects.
Having had great experiences in children's theatre and workshops in the past I know that this is going to be some adventure!
JOEY PEREZ JONES
Joey was born in Mexico (in a place called San Pedro Garza Garcia which he thinks is an awesome name) To Mexican and British parents which makes him a Mestizo (he just discovered that word and thinks it's so cool).
He’s been acting since he was 8 years old and it is still one of his biggest passions to this day, if he’s not acting he’s wanting to travel to new places, playing in his band, writing songs and poetry, supporting organisations such as Greenpeace and PETA or riding his bike singing at the top of his lungs.
Niamh Murphy joins us all the way from a tiny townland you've never heard of, located in Wexford - the "Sunny South East". Fresh out of secondary school, she is keen to make a career out of her passion for theatre.
Niamh first discovered her love of acting at the tender age of 6, when she would force her younger brother to dress up in glitter and feathers to be her scene partner in weekly pantomimes performed in their sitting room! She has been participating in plays and workshops with County Wexford Youth Theatre for 6 years, and was employed as workshop assistant last year.
She is a trained musical theatre and classical singer, having received distinctions in her examinations with The Royal Irish Academy of Music. When she's not performing, she enjoys making art, watching Netflix and telling awful jokes!
Her motto - "The only time I set the bar low is for limbo."
I am a 20 year old actor from Kildare. I have done a lot of theatre work over the past 7 years, from Shakespeare to contemporary and even site specific. I have been acting since I was about 13 years old and I can happily say that this is the most excited I have been for any acting role yet!
I can't wait to meet loads of new people and see parts of Europe I have never seen before. Hopefully I will learn a lot from this tour, not just about acting, but about myself too!
Martha's favourite kind of work combines children, languages, theatre and travelling, leaving her more than excited to be part of the EITC this year! Her personal highlights of college were directing an on-stage amateur adaptation of Paddington Bear, and working in an ice-cream shop, (although her degree was in European Studies).
Martha’s favourite activities include laughing hysterically, eating carbohydrates, re-watching tv shows that remind her of her very awkward youth, and doing all of the above at the same time.
Dylan has been acting since he was very small. For as long as he can remember in fact!
His very first role was Daddy Warbucks in his primary school's production of 'Annie' and since then he has never looked back (To this day he can still be found humming along to 'Lets Go to The Movies') . He has recently graduated with a Masters in Theatre from NUIG. As well as that he is a two time ISDA (Irish Student Drama Association) award winning actor.
Ciara is originally from Laois and graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting two year full time course in July 2015. While in training she was cast in roles such as Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream and Mary Mooney in Once a Catholic.
She performed in an original, newly commissioned short scene SQUASH By Deirdre Kinahan directed by Karl Shields. In July 2015 she played the part of Kelly in the newly commissioned Graduation play ‘The Full Moon Hotel’ written by Philip Doherty and directed by Paul Brennan. Her most recent performance was Realtin in Donal Ryan's "The Spinning Heart" in Smock Alley Theatre.
Within the last year Ciara has worked a lot with movement and through that, discovered a passion for the aerial arts developing skills in Silks, Pole and Hoop.
Gerard is an actor and drama facilitator based in Belfast with a special fondness for youth theatre and working with young people. He has trained in Meyerhold's Biomechanics in Russia and teaches on physical theatre residencies around Europe.
He loves to play piano/guitar in his spare time and is super excited to be a part of EITC!
Lindsey studied 3 years of Drama and Theatre Studies at St Mary's University and describes it as the most inspiring 3 years of her life. She felt that all of the people who surrounded her during her time of study, be that teachers, guest speakers or students, have influenced her life and inspired her to follow her dream in Theatre.
Lindsey believes in taking every opportunity that arises, and so is thrilled about starting to travel and act with the EITC. She say's "she's not sure what to expect in the next few months, but that is the most exciting part!" Lindsey also writes a lot of poetry and music and jokes that she hopes her team will grow to accept her dramatic shower singing!
